Hi, I’m Robin.
My journey into woodworking began in the 8th grade with a simple woodshop class that sparked a lifelong passion. To nurture this budding interest and, perhaps, keep me out of trouble, my dad gifted me a Shopsmith machine. This was the start of my lifelong love for crafting with wood.
Throughout high school, I immersed myself in industrial arts, even serving as a teacher’s aide in the woodshop during my senior year. A special thanks goes to Mr. Eugene Keith, my exceptional instructor, who fueled my enthusiasm. My education continued with carpentry classes at vocational school, leading to a seven-year career in the field.
Though I had always dreamed of becoming a firefighter, I was unsure how to balance this with a full-time job until a fellow carpenter, a volunteer firefighter, shared his experience. Inspired, I took the leap and joined the fire department in 1987. After five years as a volunteer, I was hired as a full-time firefighter/EMT in 1992. I spent two decades in what I still believe is the best job in the world.
Upon retiring from firefighting, I transitioned to working as an EMT in the safety department of a steel mill. After eleven fulfilling years there, I’m now embarking on a new chapter: starting my own woodworking business.
In many ways, I’ve come full circle. I find immense joy in my woodshop, from the meticulous craftsmanship to the distinctive aroma of fresh wood. My creations are often described as “Functional Art”—unique pieces that stand apart from mass-produced items. Each product is a true one-of-a-kind, reflecting my dedication to quality and artistry.
Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy exploring my handcrafted woodworking as much as I enjoy creating it.
